Cattlemen,

Our 2012 Limited Auction Bull Sale will be Sunday ---February 12th with bid off starting at 3:00 P.M. Directions to the farm are: from Hecla 6S, 2E, 2S on Hwy 37. From Groton 21N, and from Houghton 5 miles straight east (do not take the curve).

This year’s offering are extremely uniform and pack a lot of muscle. Several bulls have been tested for
Homo-black and polled. Those results are indicated on the bull sheet by BB for homo-black and PP for homo –polled. All the bulls are solid color with the exception of one Bwf.

Helping with the sale this year will be Jeff Thomas, Pat Gauer and Lance Vilhauer (Lance has done some auctioneering and if the need arises, we will use his services). Lance, Pat and Jeff have a keen eye when it comes to cattle and if you are unable to attend, feel confident in their judgment. We do guarantee their selection.

As we continue with the limited auction sale, we see where we need to make improvements to make it more fluid and not as congested at the end. This year we will have a conference call setup so we can have all the bidders on the phone or at the farm. If you know that you’re going to bid on a certain bull, bid ahead of time, today, tomorrow or an hour before bid off . This way the bidding will be underway and two people may be bidding on the calf instead of five. At the same time it makes it easier for you and less congested, plus it gives you a chance to select another calf in event you get out bid.

Most of the cattlemen who have purchased or bid on bulls know how the Limited Auction works. If it is new to you please contact us and we can explain the process, we want everyone to feel comfortable with it. We do encourage you to view the bulls before sale day and select the bulls you want. We will try to keep all bidders up to date if anyone else is bidding on the bull.
